I Randomly Discovered STONEACRE TAPAS Summer’17 When I Moved To Newport From NYC. While Strolling On Thames Street On A Warm Summer Afternoon; I Was Forced To Stop At This Cozy Tapas Eatery; Based On The Delightful Aroma That Exuded Out On To The Street. I Went In & Got A Menu, And Promised I Would Return.

I Returned A Month Later While On A First Date… My Date Randomly Stopped In Front Of Stoneacre Tapas; While We Were Cruising Around Town; Trying To Choose A Cozy Spot To Dine. It Was So Unexpected & Such A Pleasant Surprise That He Chose “MY SPOT”; I Immediately Thought “It Was A Good Omen”!!! I Had Finally Gotten The Opportunity To Try The Menu. I Had The Most Delectable, Comfy & Pleasant Meal; One Would Desire On A First Date. The Staff Was Incredibly, Attentive & Made Us Felt Very At Home. That Experience Lingered With Me, Beyond That Night!!!

Fast Forward To The Opening Of STONEACRE BRASSERIE…. I Had Heard The Buzz About The Brand New Spot On Washington Square & Knew For Sure I Would Have To Attend. So, Of Course - “ Date Night” With The Said Date At The Brasserie!!! I Was Blown Away By The Design & Architecture Of The Space. As A New Yorker I Loved The Industrial Aesthetics; The High Ceilings; The Wine Room Across From The Spacious Bar; That Chandelier; The Art & Even The Bathrooms(Especially The Men’s)… I Knew That It Was To Become A FAVE Place For Me To Dine!!! I Swiftly Tweeted Out; It’s Fast Becoming One Of My FAVORITE Restaurants In Newport. It Became One Of The Places I Took Friends & Family Who Were Visiting; My Go To After A “Jane Pickens” Show; Business Lunches; It Was My DOWNTOWN SPOT. Until The Summer Of 2020…

July 2020 Marked The Beginning Of A Whole New Feel To The Downtown Landscape. It Was The Newest Addition To The Stoneacre Family!!! The Group Had Sold The Tapas Location Back In 2019; In Order To Focus The Majority Of Their Efforts On The Brasserie. Just, While Things Were Blossoming At The Brasserie; Our World Got Hit By The PANDEMIC - COVID 19. For Some Remarkable Reason, This Exceptional Group Opened Their Third Restaurant In Newport, Summer’20.

Thus, The Birth Of STONEACRE GARDEN!!! Literally, A Stone Throw Away From The Brasserie; This Open Air Location, Is Inspired By The Gardens & Grounds Of The Stoneacre Estate; Designed By America’s First Landscape Architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. I Was Completely Intrigued To Quickly Pop In & Partake Of The Fab Alfresco Setting. My Initial Dining Experience Was One Reminiscent Of Being In Ibiza Or Capri. The Airiness, Combined With The Ambient Mix Of Terrific Mediterranean Vibe Music; Spoke To My Soul!!! I Knew We Had A Winner!!! Before Long, The Build Out Rapidly Came To Fruition. Showcasing, A Gorgeous Main Dining Room; A Beautiful PDR Space & A Sensational Rooftop; Boasting The Best Sunsets On Newport Harbour.

The Garden Has Already Elevated The Scene Of The BRICK MARKETPLACE. It’s The Perfect Anchor For Any Of The Businesses Moving In The Area.
